Building the Connection 

Start with the basics:

Talk to them: Past saying hello, ask about their week and actually be interested. 

Be interested in their interests: Ask them personally or refer to the Connect Card.

Ask questions and listen: Listening to them shows that you care.

Remember, making students feel known, valued and loved is a process with small steps. And it can be as simple as talking to them, being interested in their interests and listening.
