Worship Team

It takes many volunteers to help each of our church services come together every Sunday. We are looking for volunteers who would be interested in serving for either service. Please see below on what areas you can serve in.

               1st Service (8:30-9:30am)

·        Song Leader – Lead the congregation in hymns from the Celebration Hymnal. Be put on
a monthly rotation with other song leaders.
·        Call to Worship – Prepare and deliver a 2-3-minute message at the beginning of the service.
·        Communion & Offering Meditation – Prepare and deliver a 2-3-minute message to prepare the congregation for offering & a time of communion.
·        Announcements – Announce all important upcoming events to the congregation at the end of service.

       Fusion (2nd) Service (10:45-11:45am)

·        Worship Band – Vocalists, drummers, pianists, & guitarists
·        Communion Meditation – Prepare and deliver a 2-3-minute message to prepare the congregation for a time of communion.
·        Highlights – Announce all important upcoming events. A highlight list is provided each week.

Elevate & Elevate Jr

Elevate& Elevate Jr is for all PreK-3rd grade students. They meet every Sunday morning during worship. During their time in Elevate & Elevate Jr, students participate in interactive Bible stories/lessons and fun activities. All lessons are provided for you by our Children’s Minister, Audra Caldwell. We are looking for volunteers who would like to be put on a monthly teaching rotation. Please see Audra Caldwell, Children’s Minister, for more information on how you can serve here.

Student Check-In/Out

The safety and security of our students here at New Hope is of utmost priority. We are looking for individuals who can assist in checking each student in as they arrive to Elevate, Elevate Jr, or the nursery then checking them out with their parents/guardians at the conclusion of each service. They will answer parents’ questions and contact parents if needs arise during the service. Volunteers can serve as often as you would like or can be put on a monthly rotation. Nursery

Our nursery is available for infant through age 2. We currently only schedule volunteers for our Fusion (2nd) Service. Nursery volunteers are responsible for attending to the needs of any child that is dropped off during the worship service. Greeters

Greeters are some of the first faces that people see when they come to New Hope. Welcome each one of them as soon as they come in the front doors. Greet them with a smile, handshake, fist bump, or whatever you feel comfortable with. Greeting is an easy way to get connected here at New Hope. Serve as many times as you would like or ask to be put on a monthly rotation. See Jennifer Grimes – NHCC Administrative Assistant if you would like to become a greeter.

Tech Team

Our tech team is responsible for running sound, live video feed, camera, lights, & computer slides each Sunday morning. We are looking for more volunteers who would be interested in joining this team and then be placed on the serving schedule each month. Members of this team often meet on Saturday mornings for sound practice with the worship team the day before they are scheduled to serve. Communion Prep

We take communion every Sunday to remember what Jesus did for us on the cross. Each Sunday we take a little bit of time to prepare communion for each of the services. If you would like to learn how to prep for the service you attend or for both services, then please see Jennifer Grimes – NHCC Administrative Assistant.

Student Ministry

Our Student Ministry is for Jr High & High School Students, 6th grade - High School. There are several serving opportunities available. Please see below on how you can serve.

·        Small Group Leader – 1-year commitment starting in August. Lead a small group of students during our Sunday night youth meetings. Connect with them and their parents throughout the year and make a difference in their lives as a friend and mentor.
·        Event Chaperone – We often have events that draw extra students and we may need help keeping everything under control. If you like fun and games, this is the job for you!
·        Bus Driver – When we take large groups, we need someone to drive the church bus. If you have (or can get) a CDL, we could use your help!
·        Prayer Team – We would love to have a designated group of devoted prayer warriors for our students. It is so important to lift these young men and women up to the Lord. If you love to pray, we would love to get you on our contact list to keep you updated on how to pray for our students.
·        Snack Team – We can also use any help we can get with providing snacks and drinks for our students. We like to provide these things each Sunday night, so if you want to help by providing them, we would love to have your help in that area.

Hospitality

Our Hospitality Team works to create a welcoming environment for every person that comes to New Hope. They serve every Sunday by caring for each person, whether that person is a new visitor, or has been attending for many years.  If we have new visitors, be sure to get them a welcome packet and show them around. Direct them to the kid’s area (if applicable), show them where the restrooms are located, and just make them feel welcome. The Hospitality Team can also assist in delivering special gifts to New Hope members & guests during special times of the year. Sunday School Teachers

We offer Sunday School every Sunday morning from 9:50-10:30am. We have classes for PreK-Adult. We are always looking for individuals who would be interested in serving as the main teacher of a class or who would be interested in being put on a rotation to be a substitute in the event the main teacher is unable to be there. Maintenance Volunteers

Help us take care of our building, property, & church bus. Volunteers will work alongside our New Hope Deacons as a resource for help when needed. They help take care of any maintenance needs around the building including the church bus and work on special projects as needed. If interested in volunteering please contact Jim Schultz. Driven

Our Driven program is for PreK-5th grade students. It meets on the 2nd Monday each month from 6:00-7:30pm. We offer a free meal, songs, games, & Bible lessons for the students. We would love for you to serve with us. We could use volunteers to help with student check in/out, cooking & serving the meal, leading songs, running slides, organizing games, and teaching. Food Pantry

We offer a Food Pantry for anyone in need in Lawrence County every Tuesday & Friday morning from 9:00-11:00am. This team works together to pack & hand out food boxes for each of those days. You can help by coming in to serve on one or both food pantry days or help by restocking the shelves every Thursday evening. Small Groups

Become a small group leader or host a Small Group. Small Group leaders facilitate Bible studies and discussion. Hosts can open up their home to a small group or use our New Hope facilities. There are several resources available here at the church or online. If you are interested, please see Audra Caldwell – Small Group Coordinator.

Bus Drivers

On occasion we take a trip with a large group of church members or youth group members. If you have a CDL or would like to get one, then we would love to have you join our bus ministry team. Please see Bill Cox - NHCC Preacher for more information.

Vacation Bible School

Every summer we have Vacation Bible School where over 100 kids (PreK-5th Grade) attend each night. This event is not possible without all our volunteers. There are many areas that you can serve: teacher, snacks, tech team, decorations, registration, games, crafts, & more. Contact Audra Caldwell, Children’s Minister, to see how you can help once the VBS date draws near.

Fall Carnival

Our Fall Carnival takes place every year at Halloween. We offer games, bounce houses, trick or treat tables, & food to the entire community during this one-night event. There are many different areas that you can serve. More details are available closer to event date.

Free Shopping Day

We offer a Free Shopping Day every year at Christmas. Volunteers are needed to help sort & organize all the donations that we receive and to help community members shop the day of the event.
